DOE Commits $500 Million to Revitalize American Steelmaking and Secure Manufacturing Supply Chains
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a $500 million award to support a $1 billion modernization project at Cleveland-Cliffs' Middletown Works facility in Ohio. The investment aims to protect 2,300 American jobs, strengthen domestic steel production, improve energy efficiency, and reinforce critical manufacturing supply chains across the automotive, HVAC, appliance, and construction sectors.
