Studies on the efficacy of other antiseptics compared to CHG washcloths on no bathing in preventing SSI are limited and of low quality. Therefore, there is insufficient evidence to favor their use for pre-operative washing. In 2019, an estimated 48.3 million surgical and nonsurgical procedures were performed during these visits. A total of 25.7 million (53%) ambulatory surgery procedures were conducted in hospitals, while 22.5 million (47%) were performed in ASCs.
